21-Year-Old UWI Student Found Unresponsive At St Augustine Apartment As Tributes Pour In

Tributes are pouring in following the death of 21-year-old University of the West Indies student Tiffany Raghoonanan.

According to reports, Raghoonanan was found unresponsive at an apartment in St Augustine, where she had been residing while pursuing her studies at The UWI, St Augustine campus.

Her death has prompted an outpouring of condolences from members of the university community and people who knew her before she entered UWI.

The UWI St Augustine Guild of Students held a candlelight vigil at the JFK Quadrangle, inviting members of the university community to gather in remembrance and support one another following the loss.

The Guild described the gathering as an opportunity for students to come together in compassion, solidarity and remembrance during what it described as a difficult and heartbreaking time.

Raghoonanan’s former primary school, Princes Town Presbyterian School No. 1, also paid tribute to its past student and extended condolences to the Raghoonanan family.

The school remembered Tiffany as a former member of its student community and offered prayers for her family.

Her funeral service was held on Monday morning.

No cause of death has been confirmed in the information available.
