**UPND Alliance Emphasises Anti‑Corruption Efforts for Second Term**
*By Nelson Zulu – The Zambian Observer*
In a statement released by the United Patriotic National Development (UPND) Alliance, Chairperson Charles Milupi reaffirmed that the party’s fight against corruption will remain a top priority in its second term in government. Milupi noted that, although the party’s manifesto appears to focus largely on economic issues, the commitment to tackling corruption is a central element of the UPND’s agenda.
Milupi also addressed concerns raised by Transparency International Zambia regarding the party’s anti‑corruption record. He said the UPND Alliance is working to strengthen transparency and accountability mechanisms and will continue to pursue reforms aimed at reducing corruption in public institutions.
The UPND Alliance’s statement comes as the party prepares to lead Zambia into a new term of office, following its victory in the recent general elections. The party’s manifesto, which emphasizes economic development, also outlines plans for improving governance and strengthening the rule of law.
The statement was issued by the UPND Alliance and reported by The Zambian Observer.
