Tobago Police Seize Over $1M in Cannabis and Arrest Three Suspects in Major Bust

In a significant drug bust in Tobago, law enforcement officers seized over $1 million worth of cannabis and arrested three individuals. The operation, dubbed RESOLUTE SHIELD, took place in the early hours of August 29, 2026, in the Crown Point Police Station District.

Acting on intelligence, officers conducted a search at a residence on Young Street, Canaan, between 3 am and 6 am. The search yielded 33.2 kilogrammes of marijuana, with an estimated street value of $1,105,800, and 100 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

The suspects, aged 29, 36, and 27, were all residents of Young Street. The operation was carried out under the State of Emergency powers and involved multiple law enforcement units, including the Crown Point Police Station, the Tobago Divisional Task Force, the Inter-Agency Task Force, and the Canine Unit.

The operation was directed by ACP Singh, coordinated by Snr Supt Kirk, spearheaded by ASP Bacchus and Insp Alleyne, and supervised by W/Ag Sgt Ewing and Cpl Lewis. Authorities have stated that investigations are still ongoing to determine further details and potential connections.

This significant seizure underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat illegal drug activity in the region, as they continue to work diligently to uphold safety and security in Tobago.
