Finance Minister Clarifies Mild Hybrid Tax Status After Dealer Raises Concerns
A local vehicle dealer is publicly thanking Minister of Finance Davendranath Tancoo after receiving what he described as a swift response regarding the tax treatment of mild hybrid vehicles.
In a video shared on social media, David of Marine Porters said the minister acted quickly to bring clarity to concerns surrounding the issue.
According to David, mild hybrid vehicles will not be subject to the taxes that had caused uncertainty, allowing prices to remain unchanged.
He specifically mentioned the Toyota Raize, Toyota Rumion and Toyota Hyryder, assuring customers that there will be no additional taxes on those models.
“One thing is voicing your concern, but it’s another thing when the leaders listen,” David said, praising the Finance Minister’s rapid response and describing it as “performance.”
He also confirmed that vehicle prices will remain the same and announced that business will continue as normal when the dealership reopens on Monday.
Ending his message on a personal note, David thanked the minister once again and said he remained confident that the issue would be resolved, adding that his faith carried him through a stressful period.
The clarification is expected to provide reassurance to both dealerships and prospective buyers who had been concerned about the potential impact of new tax measures on mild hybrid vehicles.
