Three men have been apprehended following an elaborate scheme to steal over $40,000 worth of sausages. The incident unfolded on August 27, 2026, when a man falsely representing a supermarket placed a large order for Chicken Franks.
The order, amounting to $41,019, included 100 cases of standard Chicken Franks and 61 cases of the jumbo variety. A flatbed transport truck arrived at the supplier’s premises at noon to collect the goods. However, the supermarket later confirmed they had never placed such an order.
Upon this revelation, a collaborative operation was launched by the South Western Division’s Criminal Investigations Department, Task Force, and Gang Unit. Their efforts led to the arrest of three individuals—a 20-year-old and a 24-year-old from Freeport, and a 31-year-old man from Caparo.
The stolen sausages were successfully recovered and returned to the company. This swift action highlights the effective response of law enforcement agencies in tackling such fraudulent activities. Investigations remain ongoing to ascertain further details about the operation and any additional parties involved.
