Tekan Ikan Terbuang hingga 20 Persen, Rantai Dingin Portable Jadi Kunci Ekosistem KNMP

Indonesia’s fishery sector faces a significant loss of product, with approximately 20 percent of catches spoiling before reaching consumers due to inadequate cooling infrastructure.

Despite the country’s national fish production reaching 15 million tonnes in 2025, only 12 percent of that volume is supported by a sufficient cold‑chain network.

These challenges were highlighted in a recent symposium on cold‑chain solutions, where experts discussed the role of portable refrigeration systems in strengthening the KNMP (Kedutaan Besar Nasional Perikanan) ecosystem.

The symposium emphasized that portable cold‑chain units could reduce spoilage, improve product quality, and enhance market access for fish producers across Indonesia.

Efforts to expand cold‑chain coverage are seen as essential for sustaining the growth of the country’s fishing industry and ensuring food security.
