Sri Lanka has reaffirmed that its territory will not be used for activities that could harm India’s security interests, according to a statement issued by the Indian Defence Ministry on 9 th.
The statement quoted Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who assured visiting Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh that Sri Lanka would never allow its territory to be used for activities inimical to India’s security interests.
In the press release, the Indian Defence Ministry reiterated Sri Lanka’s commitment to maintaining a neutral stance and preventing the use of its land for any operations that could threaten India.
While the statement was issued in response to the visit of Defence Minister Singh, it does not contain any additional details beyond the assurance of non‑use of Sri Lankan territory for hostile activities.
