Somalia’s Health Minister Ali Haji Aden has urged regional leaders to ramp up health investment and cooperation, speaking at a forum in Mauritania’s capital Nouakchott. The regional health investment forum brought together health ministers, international organisations, and stakeholders to discuss strengthening healthcare financing and building more resilient systems. Addressing a ministerial panel on South-South cooperation, Aden outlined Somalia’s ongoing health sector reforms and stressed the importance of expanding pharmaceutical manufacturing and securing sustainable funding. He emphasised that regional partnerships are key to improving health services and ensuring equitable access across the region. The Somali delegation included Ambassador Yusuf Ahmed Hassan and senior health ministry officials. Somalia’s health ministry confirmed the country’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships to boost investment in its health sector.
