On Wednesday, 9 September 2026, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service carried out Operation R.E.S.O.L.U.T.E. Shield, a coordinated anti‑crime raid that swept through the Siparia, Santa Flora and Erin districts between 4:00 and 9:00 a.m. The operation was part of the service’s ongoing crime‑fighting initiatives under the same operation banner.
The raid involved a coalition of units, including the High Performance Patrol Response Unit, local police stations in Santa Flora, Siparia and Erin, Siparia CID, the K‑9 Unit and the South‑Western Division Task Force. Officers conducted searches pursuant to the Emergency Powers Regulations 2026, focusing on firearms and ammunition.
While a search of a 34‑year‑old man’s home in Francis Trace Extension yielded no illegal items, four people were arrested at a Santa Flora residence for marijuana possession. Among them was a 19‑year‑old priority offender who allegedly had 320 g of cannabis. A 48‑year‑old man was also taken into custody after an unlicensed air rifle was seized from him. Additionally, a 21‑year‑old man was detained for an alleged larceny in the Erin Police District.
All six suspects remain in police custody as enquiries continue. The operation was spearheaded by Senior Superintendent Thompson and Superintendent Jaggernauth, coordinated by ASPs Corrie, Lewis and Forbes, and supervised by Ag/Inspectors Mungoo and Prescott along with Sergeants Breedy, Ramkhalawan and Ramsaran.
Police officials say the raid demonstrates the service’s commitment to curbing drug and firearm offences across the western part of the island.
