Nvidia investiga presunto espionaje de China a su ejecutivo Jensen Huang

Nvidia, the U.S. microprocessor giant that supplies chips for training and running artificial‑intelligence (AI) models, announced on Sunday that it has opened an independent investigation following reports of a possible Chinese espionage operation involving its co‑founder and chief executive Jensen Huang. The investigation was prompted by a New York Times article published at the end of last month, which said that U.S. intelligence officials had concluded that a Chinese businesswoman—identified as Alice Huang, also known as Huang Le—was working for the Chinese government and had been leaking information. Huang, who is not related to Jensen Huang, is an executive at Megaspeed, a Singapore‑based data‑center company. The Times also reported that the alleged leaks could have included U.S. President Donald Trump’s views on AI, a topic that may be discussed in upcoming talks between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. In a message to Nvidia employees, Jensen Huang admitted to an extramarital affair and apologized to his family and staff. “I was not faithful to my wife,” he wrote. “My actions hurt her and our children. There is no excuse for what I did. I deeply regret it.” Nvidia’s statement said that the board would “examine all available information” in the independent inquiry, but it did not specify which country was involved. The Chinese government has dismissed the New York Times report as “unfounded speculation.” The allegations come amid heightened tensions between the United States and China over AI development. The U.S. has imposed export restrictions on advanced silicon chips that it deems critical to national security, while China seeks to close the technology gap.
