The Nigeria Chess Federation (NCF) has urged the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) (Chartered) to sustain its Schools Chess Championship initiative, emphasizing its role in grassroots development. NCF Vice-President Adeyinka Adewole made the call on Saturday at the closing ceremony of the second edition in Lagos. He commended NIM for promoting chess among young players and exposing them to organized competition. The championship, which has grown in its second year, provides a platform for schoolchildren to showcase their skills. Adewole stressed that continued support would help nurture future champions and strengthen Nigeria’s presence in the global chess arena.
