Motar FC mu zizakina icyiciro cya Gatatu

Motar Football Club has opted to compete in Rwanda’s Third Division for the 2026‑27 season after its application for a Second Division licence was rejected. The club cited delays in the licensing process as the reason for the decision. A total of 26 clubs applied to participate in the Third Division. In addition to Motar FC, Muhazi United also failed to secure a Second Division licence for the current season. Two clubs—George Weah FTC and Hope FC from the Burera District—were denied licences but were given a deadline to meet the required criteria. Among the applicants is Muvandimwe 12 FC, a club run by former player Muvandimwe Jean‑Marie Vianney, who has focused on youth development through his Ruhago academy. Debes FC, headed by former professional Hakundukize Adolphe, and Umuri Sport Club, led by former national team star Jimmy Mulisa, also applied. Future Generation FC, managed by Me. Safari Ibrahim, a former professional player, is another entrant. Other clubs that will compete in the Third Division this season include Kiramuruzi FC, Nyabihu Young Boys FC, Freedom FC, The Winners FC, Mahembe FC, Nyamasheke FC, Nyagasambu FTA, New Airport City FC, Impeesa FC, Heroes Football Academy, Miloplast FC, Muhabura FC, AS Kamonyi FC, Guépard FC, Sorwathee FC, Soaring Eagles, Kigali City FC, Viking FC and Kiramuruzi AFC. The Rwanda Football Federation’s licensing review has prompted several clubs to adjust their plans for the upcoming season. The federation has indicated that clubs denied licences will have a specified period to rectify deficiencies before the next licensing cycle.
