The cyclist was known for his previous efforts to promote peace, including a 2025 journey from his hometown of Goma to Cape Town, South Africa. Following his death, members of the cycling community in Kinshasa held a memorial ride on September 20 to honor his contributions. Reports indicate that associates of Mumbere Masaïsaï have expressed intentions to continue his journey toward Rabat to maintain the cause he championed.
