The tragic discovery of Kwasi Dion Gill’s body has left the community of Beetham Gardens in shock. The 41-year-old had been reported missing after he left his home on Friday night, intending to attend an event. Gill, who was last seen leaving in his white Toyota Aqua, failed to arrive at the gathering, prompting his family to appeal for information.
The situation took a grim turn on Saturday afternoon when Belmont police were alerted to a body lying on Lady Young Road, Morvant. Responding officers found Gill’s body with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was barefoot and dressed in a floral-patterned jersey and grey plaid shorts.
Police believe the murder occurred between Friday night and the early hours of Saturday. Evidence collected from the scene included five spent 9mm shell casings and three projectiles. The District Medical Officer pronounced Gill dead at the scene, and the body was subsequently transported to the Forensic Science Centre for a post-mortem examination.
Gill, a Gender-Based Violence Case Manager with the Family Planning Association of Trinidad and Tobago, was known for his dedication to helping others. His disappearance and subsequent murder have left his family and colleagues devastated, as they remember him for his commitment to his work and community.
