**Milan remains Italy’s most expensive city, report finds**
Milan has retained its position as the most expensive city in Italy, according to a new analysis by the consumer advocacy group Codacons.
The study, which utilized data from the Price Observatory of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, examined the cost of a basket consisting of 20 food items and 13 common services, including healthcare.
The findings indicate that the cost of living in Milan is nearly double that of Naples. According to the report, the disparity in prices for essential goods and services remains significant between the two cities.
The Codacons analysis confirms that Milan continues to lead the national rankings for the highest cost of living as of 2026.
