Former Malawi Police Service director of operations Akis Muwanga testified before the Parliamentary Ad hoc Committee investigating the Chikangawa Forest plane crash on Tuesday.
Muwanga stated that former commissioner of police for the Northern Region, Richard Luhanga, suspended the Malawi Police Service’s search and rescue mission on 10 June 2024.
The crash, which occurred in Chikangawa Forest, killed Vice President Saulos Chilima and eight other passengers.
Muwanga delivered his testimony at the Parliament Building in Lilongwe City.
