Italy’s unemployment index remained steady at 5.7% in November 2025, according to the Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT). The figure shows a marginal improvement from the previous year, with the employment index rising 0.3% compared to November 2024.
The employment rate now stands at 62.6%, with a significant gender gap: 71.1% for men and 54% for women. The unemployment rate for men is 5.5%, while for women it is 6.1%. The inactivity rate remained unchanged at 33.5% year-on-year.
