Iran war live: Trump says Houthis ‘misbehaving’ as Riyadh flights halted

On 13 October 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump publicly criticized Yemen’s Houthi movement, describing the group as “misbehaving very badly” after a series of attacks on Saudi Arabian airports. The attacks included strikes on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport and Dammam’s King Fahd International Airport. In response to the continued missile threats, Saudi Arabia extended the suspension of operations at King Khalid International Airport until Saturday. The suspension follows repeated Houthi attacks that have killed at least 18 people and disrupted air traffic, including the temporary halt of flights to Riyadh. Saudi‑led coalition forces also reported intercepting and destroying two Houthi ballistic missiles that were aimed at the Khamis Mushait airbase. Saudi spokesperson Turki al‑Maliki confirmed the interception, noting that the missiles were neutralized before reaching their target. The incidents underscore the escalating tensions in the region and the ongoing security challenges faced by Saudi Arabia and its allies.
