Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed on Monday that it launched large-scale missile and drone attacks on U.S. military bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait, as part of an ‘eye-for-an-eye’ operation in response to U.S. military strikes on Iran.
According to Iran’s Nour News Agency, the IRGC targeted Jordan’s Prince Hassan Airbase, Bahrain’s Sheikh Isa Airbase, and Kuwait’s Ali Al-Salem Airbase, claiming to have destroyed fuel depots, ammunition storage, helicopter maintenance facilities, and Patriot air defense systems.
The IRGC said the operation was in retaliation for U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) strikes on Iranian military installations, which were aimed at degrading Tehran’s ability to disrupt maritime trade through the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM had described its strikes as precision operations to protect the strategic waterway.
The IRGC warned against further U.S. involvement in the Strait of Hormuz, stating that Iran ‘would not allow continued foreign military interference’ in the waterway. The group added that its retaliatory operations were continuing.
