She noted that she has already been in contact with several party leaders but declined to provide specific details regarding those communications or any potential meeting invitations.
Left Party leader Nooshi Dadgostar, who also met with the Speaker, reiterated her support for Andersson as Prime Minister. However, Dadgostar maintained that the Left Party should be included in the government, stating that her party’s voters require a distinct voice and that their support cannot be transferred to the Centre Party or the Social Democrats.
Speaker Andreas Norlén is conducting meetings with all party leaders throughout the day, organized by the size of each party. These consultations are intended to lead to the appointment of a candidate tasked with forming a new government. A press conference with the Speaker is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. to provide an update on the process.
Christian Democrats leader Ebba Busch commented on the ongoing process, emphasizing the need for trust-based conversations between party leaders. Regarding the current status of government formation, Busch stated that there is not yet a viable basis for a new administration.
