**Lesotho Golf Club Celebrates Women’s Month with Ladies Captain’s Cup**
*Maseru, Lesotho –* The Maseru Golf Club concluded Women’s Month with a celebratory event, the second edition of the Ladies Captain’s Cup, which took place at Maseru Golf Course over the weekend. The tournament, first held last year, attracted 33 female and 20 male golfers.
The competition was themed “Empowering Women. Inspiring Excellence. Growing the Game,” aiming to honor women’s achievements in golf and encourage broader participation. Maseru Golf Club Ladies Captain Anna Moloi described the event as a success, noting significant growth in both participation and performance. “Our goal is to create a platform that celebrates and empowers women through golf, while also using the sport to inspire more women and girls to participate,” Moloi said.
Moloi added that the tournament seeks to build confidence, create opportunities, support girls’ education, and promote women’s golf in Lesotho. “Ultimately, I want the Cup to become a meaningful annual platform where we celebrate women’s achievements and use golf to make a positive difference in our communities,” she said.
The title was decided on a count‑back after both Kelello Lerotholi and Mathaleha Molapo finished with 48 points. They finished ahead of Rethabile Liphalana and Lerato Brown, who also scored 48 points. Lisemelo Ramafikeng and Kudakwashe Mupuro placed third with 45 points. Molapo was named the overall Lady Winner after scoring 38 points.
The event was sponsored by Liberty Life Lesotho, Econet Telecom Lesotho, Standard Lesotho Bank, Specialized Insurance Company, Vodacom Lesotho, Ernest Moloi, Yijin Chen, Fraud Shield Forensics, and Coca‑Cola Beverages Africa.
