Lothar Matthäus, the former German football star, was seen with his girlfriend Theresa Sommer at the Ballon‑d’Or ceremony in London on Monday, 26 October. The 65‑year‑old midfielder has been photographed with Sommer on several occasions since the pair first appeared together in April 2025 at a celebrity ski race in Ischgl. The couple’s first public appearance together was in September 2025, when they walked the red carpet at the Ballon‑d’Or awards in Paris. Since then, Sommer has been seen accompanying Matthäus at various events, including a joint visit to Munich’s Oktoberfest in September 2026. In an interview with the German magazine Bunte in spring 2026, Matthäus said, “I have no intention of getting married again.” He has been married five times. His first marriage to Silvia Matthäus lasted from 1981 to 1992 and produced two daughters, Alisa and Viola, who are now 40 and 38 years old, respectively.
