Ethiopian Ambassador Accuses Eritrea of Violating Ethiopia’s Sovereignty

**ADDIS ABABA** — Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Somalia, Suleyman Daddaf, has accused Eritrea of violating Ethiopia’s sovereignty by deploying troops into the Tigray region, as tensions mount between the two neighboring nations.

According to Ambassador Daddaf, Eritrean forces crossed into Ethiopian territory, specifically targeting the Tigray region, in a move he described as a breach of Ethiopia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“Eritrea violated Ethiopia’s sovereignty and sent armed forces towards the Ethiopian border, entering the Tigray region,” Daddaf stated.

The ambassador further alleged that upon reaching Tigray, the Eritrean forces encountered a faction he characterized as a “mafia” group preparing to engage in conflict with the Ethiopian federal government.

In a related development, Getachew Reda, an adviser to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and former president of the interim Tigray administration, stated that the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) had spent months denying any alliances with domestic and foreign entities opposed to the federal government. Getachew condemned the TPLF’s alignment with opposition groups, alleging they are working to overthrow federal authorities.

These statements follow mounting concerns regarding security and political stability in northern Ethiopia, alongside deteriorating diplomatic relations between Ethiopia and Eritrea.
