The mayor of Cluj-Napoca, Emil Boc, has publicly expressed support for the designation of Siegfried Muresan as the candidate for the position of Prime Minister. In a statement, Boc characterized the decision as a wise choice for the country.
Boc highlighted Muresan’s professional background, noting his experience as a vice-president of the European People’s Party (EPP) and the EPP Group in the European Parliament. The mayor also pointed to Muresan’s role as a co-rapporteur for the European Union’s 2028–2034 multiannual budget as evidence of his influence and capability at the European level.
Describing Muresan as a politician committed to dialogue and democratic values, Boc stated that the nominee has demonstrated a willingness to prioritize national interests by stepping away from his European political position. The mayor emphasized that Muresan is a team player and a partner to the party president, Ilie Bolojan.

He expressed hope that Muresan would receive the necessary support to lead the country, stating that his leadership offers an opportunity to build a stronger Romania both domestically and within the European Union.
