**Partial Lunar Eclipse to Be Visible Over Cuba Thursday Night**

*Havana, Cuba –* The Institute of Geophysics and Astronomy (IGA) announced that a partial lunar eclipse will be observable across Cuba from the evening of Thursday, August 27, through the early hours of Friday, August 28.

According to the institute, the eclipse will be visible in all phases throughout the country. The timing for observers in Cuba is as follows:

– **Penumbra entry:** 9:22 p.m. (local time)
– **Maximum eclipse:** 12:12 a.m. (early Friday)
– **Penumbra exit:** 3:03 a.m.

The IGA also noted that the eclipse will be visible from other regions of the world, including western Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Europe. The final stage of the penumbral phase is expected to be perceptible from the Americas, New Zealand, and the Pacific islands.

The institute is part of the Agency of Environment under Cuba’s Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment. Its staff works in areas such as astronomy, space geophysics, environmental geophysics, geology, risk assessment, information technology, communication, knowledge management, instrument development, and specialized state and commercial services. The IGA also operates a Cuban‑Russian observatory.
