Finland’s Inefficient Eyewear Industry Exposed by High-Priced Glasses

In Finland, purchasing new glasses requires both patience and a substantial budget. The typical delivery time is three weeks, and the price can be several hundred euros.

In contrast, customers in China can receive their custom-made glasses almost immediately. This disparity highlights the inefficiencies in Finland’s eyewear industry, where long wait times and high costs are the norm.

According to Kenneth Myntti, the difference in delivery times and prices between Finland and China is notable. While Finns must wait weeks for their glasses and pay a premium, the Chinese can obtain their custom-made glasses quickly and at a lower cost.

The significant difference in efficiency and pricing between the two countries raises questions about the Finnish eyewear industry’s ability to compete and provide affordable, timely services to its customers.
