The earthquake originated at a depth of 21.4 kilometers and was classified by the INCDFP as a weak tremor, with an intensity evaluated at degree I. Unlike the deep-focus earthquakes typically associated with the Vrancea seismic zone, this event occurred at a relatively shallow depth.
The INCDFP reported the epicenter was located approximately 34 kilometers south of the city of Suceava. The tremor was also situated about 58 kilometers north of Piatra Neamt, 65 kilometers north of Botosani, and 87 kilometers north of Roman.
