**Congo’s CSLC Holds Second Ordinary Session in Brazzaville**

Brazzaville, 31 August 2026 – The Superior Council for the Freedom of Communication (CSLC) opened its second ordinary session of the year on 31 August, continuing through 1 September 2026. The meeting was held in the conference hall of the Ministry of Justice.

The opening ceremony was chaired by CSLC President Médard Milandou and attended by a range of institutional and professional representatives, including heads of constitutional bodies, leaders of press organs, members of associations working in information and communication, media professionals, and senior CSLC advisers.

The session focused on regulatory matters affecting the communication sector, with particular attention to the evolving media landscape and the rapid expansion of digital platforms. Over the two days, CSLC members reviewed the agenda items and developed policy directions aimed at fostering a more organized and responsible communication environment.

CSLC officials emphasized the council’s commitment to ensuring that freedom of expression and the right to information are exercised within the bounds of existing laws and professional standards. The council’s work seeks to balance the need for regulatory oversight with the protection of communication freedoms.
