**CDD‑Ghana Hosts Workshop on Political Party Financing for Journalists**

KUMASI, Ghana – The Ghana Centre for Democratic Development (CDD‑Ghana) held a one‑day workshop in Kumasi on “Regulating Political Party Financing in Ghana” aimed at media professionals. The event was organized to equip journalists with the knowledge and tools needed to investigate and report on how political parties raise and spend money.

The workshop was facilitated by Joseph Oti Frimpong, Programmes Officer for Elections at CDD‑Ghana, and Zakari Tanko Musah, Legal Consultant for Corruption Watch‑CDD‑Ghana. It was funded by the British High Commission in Ghana.

During the session, participants discussed the legal framework governing party financing, the importance of transparency, and the role of the media in holding parties accountable. CDD‑Ghana emphasized that journalists have a critical responsibility to uncover and disseminate information about the sources of political funding.

The event was part of CDD‑Ghana’s ongoing efforts to strengthen democratic institutions and promote accountability in Ghana’s political system.
