**Report: Russia Shifts Air Attack Tactics Against Kyiv**
According to a report by Bloomberg, Russian forces have altered their aerial attack strategy against Kyiv since late August, increasing the frequency of strikes and expanding the use of jet-powered drones.
The new tactical approach has shifted the timing of attacks, moving away from primarily nocturnal strikes to a pattern that threatens the capital throughout the day. City officials reported that in the seven days leading up to September 2, air raid sirens were activated 74 times in Kyiv, totaling 63 hours of alerts.
The report notes that this shift has disrupted the daily routines of residents, complicating logistics, the operation of public services, and general economic activity. The persistent nature of the alerts has forced citizens to spend more time in shelters and subway stations, leading some families to consider relocating from the capital.
Analysts cited by Bloomberg suggest that the current reduction in the use of ballistic missiles may indicate that Russia is stockpiling these weapons in anticipation of the winter season. There is ongoing concern that the strategy remains focused on targeting Ukraine’s energy and heating infrastructure.
In response to the evolving threat, Ukrainian authorities are adjusting security protocols. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced plans to implement a two-tiered alert system. This system is intended to distinguish between drone threats and more severe missile dangers, which would allow businesses and government institutions to maintain operations during lower-level alerts without requiring a full cessation of activity.
