The Aalborg Tower, a prominent landmark in Aalborg, may receive significant financial support from the local municipality to address maintenance needs and facilitate modernization. The city’s finance committee has proposed a grant in the million-kroner range to assist with the project.
The tower is owned by Det Broderlige Skydeselskab, Papegøjegildet af 20. maj 1431. The organization has previously outlined a vision for the site that includes the installation of an enclosed elevator, the addition of an extra floor at the top of the structure, and the construction of a mountain railway.
The proposal aims to address a backlog of maintenance work on the nearly 100-year-old structure while enhancing the experience for visitors. The funding package is currently subject to final approval.
