Main Points
Al‑Shamal and Al‑Siliya will face each other on the evening of Thursday at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, the home ground of Al‑Dahil, as part of the ninth round of the 2026‑2027 Qatar Stars League. Al‑Shamal currently sits in tenth place in the league table with nine points, having recorded two wins, three draws and three defeats. The club, which finished fourth in the previous season, is looking to regain the momentum it enjoyed last year and close the gap of nine points that separates it from the top three teams – Al‑Sadd, Al‑Rayyan and Al‑Dahil. Al‑Siliya occupies the bottom spot in the standings, holding only one point from a single draw and seven losses. The team entered the season with a focus on survival, but its results have fallen short of that objective. After the eighth round, Al‑Siliya was five points behind Qatar SC, the club in eleventh place. Both teams are hoping for a win to improve their positions in the league and to restore balance to their campaigns. Article source: Stad Al Doha | Image credit: Stad Al Doha
