Jay (35) ble drept: Nå ber familien om hjelp til å få henne hjem

A Norwegian family is raising money to bring the body of Jay Sulis Yaneth Andrade Perez back to Colombia after her murder in Ringerike in late October. The 16‑year‑old daughter has not yet seen her mother, and the family fears that the funeral may have to take place in Norway if the body is not repatriated. The family’s fundraiser, run through the online platform Spleis, has collected more than 215 000 Norwegian kroner (NOK). Ringerike municipality has offered to cover 25 000 NOK of the estimated cost of the transport, but the total expense remains unknown. The family, which has nine siblings in addition to the daughter, is Catholic and has no funds left for the repatriation. “The need to bring her home is desperate,” said the family’s legal representative, Skjalg Jarnang. “We risk a funeral in Norway. The daughter has not seen her mother, and that is something she wants.” Jarnang added that the family is grateful for the support they have received and that any surplus from the fundraiser would be given to the daughter to help her in the difficult situation. Police have confirmed that Jay Sulis was found dead in a house in Ringerike. Her boyfriend, a man in his 40s, is charged with murder and has pleaded guilty. He has also provided an explanation of the events that led to the killing. Police said they plan to conduct a new interrogation of the suspect next week. A friend of the suspect had alerted authorities to the incident. The family has expressed that they cannot travel to Norway to attend the funeral, and the repatriation of the body is a priority. The municipality’s contribution and the ongoing fundraiser are seen as crucial to making the transport possible.
