Krerët e institucioneve të sigurisë me mesazhe për policët e rinj: Guxim të mbrosh ligjin edhe përballë të fuqishmëve

The Kosovo Police held a graduation ceremony for its 63rd generation of cadets, marking the completion of their professional training and their formal entry into the force. The event, attended by high-ranking state officials, emphasized the responsibilities of the new officers in maintaining public order, security, and the rule of law. A total of 397 cadets graduated, including 118 women and 279 men. Among the graduates are Sokol Zymberi and Jetlum Bunjaku, the sons of fallen police officers Enver Zymberi and Afrim Bunjaku, respectively. During the ceremony, the Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca (noted in the context of the event as the presiding official), and other state leaders highlighted the historical significance of the Kosovo Police since its establishment in 1999. Officials urged the new officers to uphold integrity and courage in their duties. “The courage of a police officer is not proven only in the face of danger,” the Speaker stated, emphasizing that true courage involves acting correctly even when it is difficult, protecting the vulnerable against powerful figures, and enforcing the law impartially. Prime Minister Albin Kurti addressed the graduates, noting that the inclusion of women—who make up nearly one-third of this generation—is a positive development for the country’s security institutions. He encouraged the cadets to honor the legacy of officers who lost their lives in the line of duty, describing them as a “compass” for their future commitment. Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sveçla underscored the importance of professionalism and equal opportunity within the force. He stated that career advancement should be based on ability and dedication rather than gender or prejudice, adding that women must be equal participants in institutional leadership and responsibility. The officials also addressed the issue of domestic violence, with speakers noting that when women report such threats to the police, the risks must be assessed with the utmost seriousness and protective measures must be implemented promptly. The ceremony concluded with the cadets officially joining the ranks of the Kosovo Police to begin their service to the country and its citizens.
