Trump találkozott Putyin küldöttével

Donald Trump announced that he had held a closed‑door meeting with Russian diplomat Kirill Dmitriev after Dmitriev attended a Thursday evening event at the White House organized by First Lady Melania Trump. Trump said he would not disclose the contents of the meeting but indicated that a deal could soon be reached regarding the war in Ukraine. He added that the agreement could “affect all of Europe” and described it as a “great, wonderful agreement” that would “shock everyone.” U.S. Special Envoy Jared Kushner reported that on Thursday, U.S. officials met in Brussels for “productive and substantive discussions” with Ukraine, NATO and European partners about security guarantees for Ukraine and a broader European security architecture. In a social‑media post, Kushner outlined five key objectives of the talks: permanent security consultations, reliable crisis communication, greater military transparency, mutual measures to reduce escalation risks, and a long‑term framework for European security and stability. He emphasized that any agreement must respect each nation’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and independent decision‑making, and that NATO would continue to play a central role in collective defense. Dmitriev was also present at the White House meeting with Ukrainian representatives, which aimed to celebrate a six‑day ceasefire that Melania Trump helped facilitate in the Russian‑occupied city of Olesk. At the event, the first lady said, “We chose humanity over war,” and added that the bravery shown in Olesk should be used to find common ground on the suffering of innocent civilians. She stated that she had been involved in all stages of the ceasefire planning, including reviewing aerial footage and assessing road and hospital accessibility. Trump praised his wife’s role in the Olesk ceasefire, saying in October that she “does it better than our experts.” The meeting also included Ukrainian parliamentarian David Arahamia and human‑rights ombudsman Dmitro Lubinec, who urged Melania Trump to continue her peace‑building efforts.
