Achiuwa bags 24 points as Kings fall to Pelicans

The Sacramento Kings fell 132‑120 to the New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Centre, extending their winless streak to four games in the 2026‑27 NBA season. The Kings, who had traveled to New Orleans in search of their first victory, were unable to overcome the Pelicans’ strong performance. Sacramento opened the game with a 30‑24 lead in the first quarter. However, the Pelicans outscored the Kings in the next two quarters, winning the second 39‑31 and the third 39‑27. The Kings rallied in the fourth quarter, taking a 32‑30 win in that period, but the 12‑point deficit proved insurmountable. Rookie guard Darius Acuff Jr. led the Kings with a career‑high 34 points, 14 assists and six rebounds in 41 minutes, marking his first double‑double in the NBA. Forward Precious Achiuwa finished with 24 points, nine rebounds and four steals. De’Andre Hunter also contributed 24 points, while Zach LaVine added 21. On the Pelicans side, center Domantas Sabonis posted a team‑high 15 rebounds, along with nine points and seven assists. The victory keeps the Kings at the bottom of the standings as they continue to seek their first win of the season.
