Another woman has come forward amid the ongoing social media attention surrounding a man identified as Joel, saying she was involved in a separate altercation with him more than a year ago.
The woman, who identified herself as Leslie Ann, clarified that her experience is separate from the dash cam video currently circulating widely across Trinidad and Tobago social media.
“I’ve seen the pictures. I’ve seen the videos. I’ve seen the comments. I’ve seen everything that’s going on at this time,” Leslie Ann said.
She said an older video involving her had also resurfaced as discussion surrounding Joel intensified.
According to Leslie Ann, her altercation with Joel occurred approximately one year and two months ago.
“Yes, it was me that had an altercation with Joel about a year and two months ago, and that was part of the outcome of it,” she said.
Leslie Ann also pointed to an injury she said she sustained during that incident, telling viewers that her lip has still not completely healed.
“As you could see, my lip has not totally mended back as it should have. But give thanks for life, health and strength,” she said.
She stressed that there was considerably more behind her situation than what people have seen online.
“There’s so much more in the backdrop of all that you all have seen and heard and witnessed. There’s much more,” she said.
Leslie Ann did not provide the full details of the earlier incident, but said people sometimes require help even when they may not recognise it themselves.
“We need extend a little understanding for people that I think are not well, but they don’t know they’re not well. People that need help, need help,” she said.
That statement reflected Leslie Ann’s personal view, and she did not elaborate on any medical or psychological condition.
She also said she never wanted the older footage involving her to become public and does not know who obtained or circulated it.
“I wish that video never came out. I don’t know who got it and who shared it, but it is what it is,” she said.
Despite the renewed attention, Leslie Ann reassured the public that she is doing well.
“I am alive and well. Give thanks.”
