The Memorandum of Understanding signed with Eni: supervision sheds light on opinion on the blocks concerned

The Ministry of Energy and Mines of Senegal has signed a memorandum of understanding with Italian oil company Eni. The agreement focuses on evaluating the oil and gas potential of five offshore blocks.

The blocks covered by the memorandum are SN01M – Saint-Louis Offshore Shallow (SLOS); SN02M – Cayar Offshore Shallow (COS); SN03M – Rufisque Offshore (RO); SN07M – Saint-Louis Offshore Profond (SLOP2); and SN40M – Senegal Offshore Sud Profond (SOSP).

The memorandum is limited to the assessment of hydrocarbon resources in these blocks and does not include any immediate development or drilling activities.

The agreement is part of Senegal’s broader strategy to attract foreign investment and to explore its offshore potential.
