Lielvārde/Unihoc secured its first victory of the season by defeating FBK Valmiera 2–1 in a men’s match of the ELVI football league.
The game was played at the Valmiera Olympic Center, where both teams had not yet earned any points in the current season.
In the first period, the visiting side was more active, but the score remained unchanged. At the 34th minute, Lielvārde/Unihoc’s Edvards Gustavs Rašmanis scored a precise goal, giving his team a 1–0 lead.
Only a few minutes later, Valmiera’s Markusa Strazdiņa‑Stradiņa equalised, making the score 1–1 and ending the second quarter with a tie.
The final period saw a tight contest, with both teams’ goalkeepers performing well.
