The Gamboa Games conclude today with a series of final matches and cultural activities. The closing program features the Under-15 men’s final, men’s and women’s beach volleyball finals, the Under-19 beach volleyball final, and various traditional games.
Held throughout August, the Gamboa Games included competitions across seven sports: football, volleyball, handball, tennis, teqball, swimming, and traditional games. According to the organizers, the initiative aims to encourage sports participation, promote healthy social interaction, and facilitate the use of public spaces by the youth.
In the men’s competition, the winning team will receive 40,000 escudos, with prizes of 30,000, 20,000, and 15,000 escudos awarded to the second, third, and fourth-place finishers, respectively. An additional fair-play award of 25,000 escudos is also scheduled.
For the women’s competition, the winning team will receive 30,000 escudos. The second, third, and fourth-place teams will receive 20,000, 15,000, and 10,000 escudos, respectively, with a fair-play award of 15,000 escudos.
