After losing the toss and being sent in to bat first, India posted a total of 221 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs. The innings was anchored by a century from opening batter Abhishek Sharma, supported by a strong performance from Sanju Samson.
In response, the Afghanistan batting lineup struggled to chase the target of 222 runs. The team was bowled out for 94 runs in 14.1 overs, resulting in a comprehensive defeat. Afghanistan concluded the series without recording a win.
While India had successfully chased targets in the previous two matches of the series, the third match saw the team demonstrate its ability to set a high total. Abhishek Sharma’s performance marked his third international T20 century.
