Operation RESOLUTE Shield, a weekend police exercise, resulted in the arrest of one suspect and the seizure of two firearms, ammunition, and cannabis, according to a media release issued on September 13, 2026.
In the first operation, officers from the Northern North Division conducted a drill between 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm on Saturday, September 12, at a bushy stretch of Mottley Trace on Pinto Road in Arima. A targeted search uncovered a Beretta pistol, a five‑round magazine, and a quantity of cannabis.
The exercise was overseen by Senior Superintendent Frank, Superintendent Mc Kenzie, ASP Balewa, ASP Morales, W/ASP Wilkinson, W/Insp. Ramai, Sergeant Trancoso, Corporal Dedier, the Canine Unit, and personnel from the Malabar and Pinto posts, highlighting coordinated inter‑unit effort.
Later that evening, the South Western Division carried out an anti‑crime drill around 7:45 pm in Point Fortin’s Salazar Trace. Officers observed a 47‑year‑old male suspect, who glanced at them before fleeing. He was apprehended a short distance away, and a search revealed a Glock pistol equipped with a selector and an extended magazine holding 19 rounds.
The suspect was taken into custody, and investigations into both incidents continue. The Corporate Communications Unit provided an accompanying photograph to illustrate the operation’s outcomes.
