El salto dimensional de Tesla: la variante de seis pasajeros que busca resolver los viajes largos en Chile

Tesla has introduced the Model Y L to the Chilean market, a new variant of its electric SUV featuring an extended chassis and a six-passenger seating configuration. The vehicle is designed to target the family-oriented segment by offering increased interior space and three rows of seating.

The Model Y L measures 17.8 centimeters longer and 5.1 centimeters taller than the standard Model Y. The interior features six individual captain-style seats, with the second row capable of longitudinal adjustment to improve cargo flexibility and access to the rear seats. Additionally, the second and third rows can be folded electronically using controls located in the trunk.

Equipped with an 82 kWh battery, the vehicle has an estimated range of 681 kilometers under the WLTP cycle. This range exceeds that of the five-seat AWD version of the standard Model Y. Technological updates include the addition of ventilated 50W wireless phone chargers, intended to prevent device overheating, alongside the standard central and rear touchscreen interfaces.

Chile is the fifth global market to receive this specific variant. The vehicle is currently available for reservation through Tesla’s official digital channels in Chile, as well as at physical locations in Santiago, Concepción, and Viña del Mar.
