In the opening match of the 2026 Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, the Thailand women’s cricket team secured a six‑run victory over the Hong Kong women’s side.

After winning the toss, Hong Kong elected to bowl first. Their early breakthrough came with the dismissals of Thailand’s Aphisara Suwanchonrathi (caught for 11) and Phannita Maya (caught for 19). Thailand’s captain, Naruemol Chaiwai, anchored the innings with a rapid 43 runs off 31 balls, including four boundaries and two sixes. Thailand’s off‑spinner Onnicha Kamchomphu claimed three wickets for 27 runs, while Phannita Maya took two wickets for 22 runs. Hong Kong were eventually restricted to 114 for 7 wickets in their 20 overs, falling short by six runs.

Naruemol Chaiwai was named Player of the Match for her pivotal innings that helped Thailand set a defendable total on a challenging surface.
