Angola Faces Fuel Shortage Despite Oil Production

According to the Angolan Minister of Mineral Resources, Petroleum, and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, the country is currently experiencing a fuel shortage. Azevedo stated that the state-owned oil company, Sonangol, is facing financial difficulties in supplying fuel.

Speaking at the Women’s Forum in the Oil and Gas Sector in Luanda, the capital of Angola, Azevedo expressed concern over the situation, saying, “We are in a worrying situation with fuel in the country.” He added that the entire country is concerned about the fuel situation.

Azevedo’s comments were reported by the Rádio Nacional de Angola. The minister’s statement highlights the challenges faced by Angola, a major oil-producing country, in meeting its domestic fuel needs. Despite being a significant producer of petroleum, Angola is struggling to supply enough gasoline to meet demand, leading to a reliance on imports.
