Costa Rica Considers Implementing Toll-Free Tolling System
The Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Transportes (MOPT) in Costa Rica is working on a project to introduce a toll-free toll collection system. This system, also known as “free flow” in other countries, aims to expedite toll collection and eliminate the need for drivers to stop at toll booths. The implementation of this system is intended to prevent tolls from becoming a traffic bottleneck. According to the MOPT, the new system would improve traffic flow and reduce congestion.
