Bengaluru’s Central Crime Branch (CCB) has arrested seven individuals, including two rowdy-sheeters, in connection with a violent home robbery that took place in Muniveerappa Layout on May 5. The suspects, aged 22 to 39, are all residents of Bengaluru.
According to police, the group threatened the victim with weapons, assaulted him, and stole valuables including mobile phones, a laptop, a watch, AirPods, and Rs 80,000 in cash. They also took his car and an electric two-wheeler parked outside, and forced him to transfer Rs 50,000 from his PhonePe app.
The arrested include Ruben, 29, and Syed Mehboob Pasha, 39, who have active rowdy sheets against them, a senior CCB officer confirmed. Others in custody are Syed Mohsin, 22, Vijay Prabhakaran, 28, Mohammed Ibrahim, 24, Syed Arshad, 22, and Shakil Ahmed, 32.
The CCB’s Organised Crime Squad (East) led the investigation, securing a body warrant for one suspect already in judicial custody in another case. All suspects confessed during interrogation and have been produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
Police have recovered two cars, a laptop, one mobile phone, and the weapon used in the crime. Further investigation is ongoing.
