Nana Adam NANFAMÉ takes the reins as NSCT board chairman

Nana Adam NANFAMÉ, a seasoned agronomist with over three decades in Togo’s cotton sector, has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nouvelle Société Cotonnière du Togo (NSCT). The appointment, effective December 13, 2024, follows the death of former chairman Simféitchéou PRE.

A graduate of the Krasnodar State Agricultural University and an expert with the International Labour Office, NANFAMÉ began his career on the ground as an ICAT agency head in several prefectures, including Tchamba, Dapaong, and Sokodé. He rose through the ranks to become NSCT Director General on July 4, 2016, a position he held for four years.

During his tenure as DG, he drove governance reforms and modernized support for cotton producers. He left in 2020 when the Olam Group acquired a 51% strategic stake in the company. He continued to serve as a state representative before being elevated to board chair.

His deep knowledge of rural issues and the cotton value chain positions him to lead the NSCT, which oversees the entire cotton chain in Togo. The appointment signals continuity for a sector critical to the national economy.
