This move could make Liberian programs accessible to viewers across Africa and beyond, ending years of limited exposure.
CGI’s invitation comes after persistent public calls for broader distribution of LBS content. LBS, the state broadcaster, currently reaches only domestic audiences through terrestrial signals. By joining DStv, LBS would tap into a subscriber base spanning dozens of African countries.
DStv, operated by MultiChoice, is a leading satellite television service on the continent. The addition of LBS would introduce Liberian culture, news, and entertainment to a vast new audience. CGI has not yet announced a timeline for the rollout, but the invitation marks a major step forward.
