Trinidad and Tobago, known for its robust energy sector, is set to be part of an upcoming summit chaired by former U.S. President Donald Trump. This Caribbean nation, together with Guyana, are significant energy players in the region, largely due to their extensive natural gas and oil industries. Trinidad and Tobago’s strategic location and active involvement in regional energy discussions, such as cross-border gas initiatives, have also attracted international interest. Beyond energy, the country also plays an active role in regional diplomacy through organizations like CARICOM. Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s participation would allow discussions on trade opportunities, economic cooperation, and regional stability. The summit’s full agenda and schedule are yet to be announced.
